    2009 Emmy's
    Sunday, July 27, 2008

Speaking of nominations, I will make predictions for the choreographies that will make the nominations for next year's emmy's.

Mark & Chelsie - Hip Hop (Workaholic) by Napolean & Tabetha

Mark & Chelsie - Contemporary (Weird Wedding) by Mia Michaels

Joshua & Katee - Broadway (Godspell) by Tyce Diorio

Twitch & Kherrington - Viennese Waltz (Inspiration) by Jean-Marc Generaux

Will & Jessica - Lyrical Jazz (Shirt dance) by Mandy Moore

Twitch & Kherrington - Contemporary (Bed) by Mia Michaels

Joshua & Katee - Contemporary (Walk) by Mia Michaels
Gev & Courtney - Broadway (New York) by Tyce DiOrio
Will & Jessica - Contemporary (Garden Of Eden) by Tyce DiOrio

Gev & Courtney - Jazz (Lost) by Mandy Moore

Joshua & Katee - Bollywood (Om Shanti Om) by Nakul Dev Mahajan
Joshua & Courtney - Hip Hop (Frankenstein) by Dave Scott

Twitch & Comfort - Hip Hop (Future) by Dave Scott
Will & Katee - Pas De Deaux (Connection) by Dwight Rhoden & Desomond Richardson

Gev & Chelsie - Jive by Jean-Marc Generaux

Twitch & Katee - Contemporary (Psychotic Girlfriend) by Mia Michaels

Twitch & Katee - Contemporary (Sweet Georgia Brown) by Tyce DiOrio

Joshua & Chelsie - Disco by Dorianna Sanchez

Mark & Chelsie - Salsa by Alex Da Silva

    Emmy's Nomination

Right now, So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) is up to the top 6 contestants.

    Katee
    Courtney G.
    Joshua
    Chelsie H.
    Twitch
    Mark

Next week will be the decision week to whom will be fighting for the crown during the finale. My prediction will be Katee, Chelsie and Joshua, because all three had not been in the bottom before, so hopefully that will happen. However, I also felt that courtney is good however she has a small fanbase. The last guy who is to take the stage could be anyone, I practically don't care because I believe a girl will take the crown this year.

Another SYTYCD news, Comfort who was eliminated before the top 10 was made. She was brought back into the competition when Top 10-er Jessica King withdrew from the competition because of her injury, which is very sad because she is missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime to be in the top10. Aside from that, Comfort was eliminated again this week after she managed to squeeze into the top 8. I think that she deserved it as her time was up a long time ago.

Another exciting news, SYTYCD has 4 nominations for this year's Emmy Awards. 3 for choreography and 1 for Make-up. This is really exciting because the people are recognizing the originality and the entertainment value of this show. The 3 choreographies which receive nominations are:

Hok & Jaimie - Jazz (Flower and Hummingbird) by Wade Robson

Pasha & Lauren - Hip Hop (Transformer) by Shane Sparks

Neil & Sabra - Jazz (Boardroom) by Mandy Moore->not the singer

I wish all the nominees all the best and wish that SYTYCD will bring home the awards.

    Mio TV
    Friday, July 25, 2008

The battle of the cable tv is getting hotter... Aside from Pony and what not...

    MioTV VS Starhub Cable

Right now, Starhub is starting to lose my viewership because well, the cost is high for a pack of shows... Furthermore, whatever that i want to watch from the packs are little and if i want to watch other things from other channels, I have to subscribe to other channels, then i will to pay more...

MioTV has a solution for that. It is offering a channel where you can exclusively watch TV shows from the US immediately the day after it airs... And it does not cost a lot, considering that you can watch th episode of your favorite tv show anytime you want with no commercials... How much more attractive can it be? MUCH MORE. The tv shows that you can watch includes GOSSIP GIRL, PUSHING DAISIES, SMALLVILLE, CHUCK, SUPERNATURAL, SMALLVILLE, COLD CASE, NIP/TUCK, WITHOUT A TRACE and the BACHELOR. 10 of america's favorite TV shows which you can watch anytime. I think this favorites in demand is an experimental effort to promote its another exciting package coming in September, SEASON PASS.

For the former you can watch 10 of the series for $9.99/month, for the latter though pricing has not been released but it promises 50 of the hottest TV SERIES, which you can watch the day after it's premiere in US. So far, I know that Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Ugly Betty, Pushing Daisies, America's Next Top Model, Bones, Brothers and Sisters and a lot more are releasing new seasons in US. So that means, we are going to be pampered with a whole new meaning to US TV in Singapore. I am really excited for this because in Singapore as you have understood, the only channels where you can get your scoop on american TV shows are Star World, AXN, and Channel 5. And the shows offered are either repetitive among the channels or one that has either aired for as long as 2 years ago. I think that SEASON PASS will get a thumbs up by all the Singapore viewers who can't get enough of American TV Shows... I know I will.

NOTE: I am not paid to advertise or promote this.

    2 Weeks

Wow, it has been 2 weeks i had not posted a single thing in this blog... The reason maybe because this blog is rarely visitted by anyone... No one leaves a tag in the tagboard...

Anyway... Here is an update about my journey to learn dance... I just spoke to a friend, not the same friend, and this friend encouraged me to take up dance in JC. Well, if i had signed up for DSA, there is no way I am taking dance because i would be committed to Media club or something like that. But now that I cannot possibly do that because i missed both phases of entry, so I am definitely going to fight for a spot in a JC with my O level Score. Furthermore, all the good colleges have really high expectation for their students. My friends who have done exceptionally well academically and in CCA, did not even manage to get a spot in the JC they registered for. What could I who have a relatively weaker score than theirs could possibly get the same spot that they were fighting for?

Anyway, that is what i think. So right now, I am going to study doubly harder so that i can get good scores and be able to enter the school I wish to go to. And this friend whom i spoke to wanted me to go to the same JC as he/she is in, so that we can do dance together...

but now i am torn between a few JCs. There is my first choice which is HCJC, high hopes but possibility that I couldn't make it. Second choice NJC, VJC,TJC, ACJC and SAJC... SO many colleges but i understand that i can only shortlist like 3 or 4 JCs... And my choices must also include subject combinations that I wish to study in the school, which i have no idea right now, maybe i will take physics, chemistry, economics, geography, maths, english literature and if have theatre arts.

after all those consideration, once in the college, I will then consider the CCAs, I wish to join preferably Dance, Choir/Acapella ensemble, Theatre Arts, back to Infocomm club or I&E, or squash... I don't know... I may just have to wait and see..

    Racial Harmony
    Tuesday, July 8, 2008

Alright, since racial harmony is coming in 2 weeks time, here is a special Top 5!

Top 5 ways to celebrate Racial Harmony Day.

    1. A day to learn the language of the minorities, excluding the 4 main languages.

    2. Dance a style that originates from different countries.

    3. Eat-all-you-can festive food from around the world.

    4. Dress in attires from other countries, excluding the four main races.

    5. Trip to cultural places, and have fun.

NOTE: Stray away from all those NE presentation and shenanigans about us being harmonised. We should do something different every year.

    Updated
    Sunday, July 6, 2008

If you have noticed, or probably not, I changed the template of the blog!!! This month, the side navigation is changed and a lot of graphics too have been modified...

And further more, to all those of you who uses browser Mozilla Firefox, now you can access my blog! This is due to huge response observed from the front page poll. Don't fret, if you are a loyal user of Internet explorer, you can still access the blog, however, a lot of graphics will appear distorted and the blog will look weird...

If you are wondering, Yes I am using mozilla firefox now. I just changed my browser less than 24 hours ago, because my brother told me that it is safer and all... and also my downloads were cancelled a lot of times by internet explorer. I still have the same problem with firefox but not so often...

Anyway, regarding some graphics on this blog, I think they are rather poorly editted, I will take care of them tomorrow, for now, you have not been able to access my blog since it received a renovation, go and explore the blog...

    Ballroom
    Friday, July 4, 2008

Alright, I signed up for that dance workshop, but I am not getting a reply, how am I supposed to know where to go?

My friend ditched me and I ended up signing up alone... I really wanted to try ballroom dancing and hopefully learn something from it...

Anyway, right now is raining heavily, since afternoon 12pm... The first time in many weeks that it is raining for so long... Hopefully, it won't rain for the next two days because it is going to really suck when the weather is bad on the holidays...

I have a question to ask for anyone of you who have experienced this before... When I talk to a girl, at first it would appear very normal, but subsequent conversations it is really tough to make up my mind of what comes out of my mouth... Seriously, I talked to this girl last week, and man, it was really uncomfortable because usually in the bus, i would sit all by myself, but we sat together and talked... it was personal about studies and everything... Then the next time... there we were, we met again... and she sat with me... I was utterly surprised, because she was deciding who she should sit with, me or her friend... but she chose me... Is that a sign or something? Then, we talked, and I was so nervous, I didn't know what I said, seriously, and I was saying that I liked horror stuff... And she was laughing and all.. It really was like a movie scene, I felt so weird...

In the school, there are a lot of girls that I liked, I wanted to tell them that I liked them... but they might think that I am crazy and run away... So I have kept them all to myself... Well actually, I told other peoplet that I liked them, but never told them in their faces...

    SHOCKING
    Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Now, i have a confession to make...

If you know me well throughout the years... I have a secret talent that I have hidden from the world...

    I danced...

I started doing it amateurly when I was 4 or 5 years old... I did a folk dance when I was in indonesia in celebration of an Indonesian holiday, hari kartini if i am not mistaken... That was the first time I danced...

Then throughout the years, I stopped dancing because I need to accomodate to the changes as I migrate to Singapore... Then when I was bigger... Primary 5 or 6... I danced again now with my crew, whom I suppose you should know... It was for a talent contest which we obviously lost, but I did not participate because I was ill. Then... I did not pursue dancing, and caught on singing...

Yes, I started singing, personally, then, and i sounded horrible, i guess from the response i received. And also i lost in a karaoke contest, you should know. But I did not stop... I continued singing, till today....

I sing in my bedroom, in the bathroom, in my closet, when everyone else is noisy I would be singing there. Then I auditioned for a singing contest, but failed to qualify because i lost the lyrics and was extremely nervous.... And I am telling you, I can sing!

Well, I started dancing again... 3 years ago, don't know when was it, but after watching a dance movie, I really liked the routines that was carried out and I really wanted to learn dancing.... Sometimes, I freestyle to the music that is playing in my library... Most of the time, when i am tired singing, i started to dance....

I do a lot of dance styles, in moderation and minimum... I am not an avid dancer because I do not possess the right skills... I danced simple steps of contemporary, ballroom, latin and hip hop... Watching dance related shows really helped a lot, I learned a lot about the steps to take, how the steps are accompanied by the music... I want to take up dancing lessons, but as you know I am a cheapo, and I don't like to spend money any ol how...

Yesterday, i spoke to my friend about my obsession, and my friend was also into the plan.... We had agreed to take up lessons after the O's... Just today, Deja Vu happened..

I flipped the newspaper, and there was a little note that says... DANCE VOLUNTEERS WANTED!!! It was to gather inexperienced dancers to join in a free dance clinic.... For FREE!!! I was so psyched and immediately texted my friend, hopefully my friend will reply and accompany me to this workshop... It's free... Just make sure that no one else I know will be there...
