Today was hell of a day. I did the most stupid thing during the prelims and I just cant forgive myself.

No, I did not cheat. But what I did is considered by the officials as cheating. Well, during the prelims there were no real officials or anything, but the teachers were the invigilators so it still counts.

Last Night, I was super engrossed in revising for Chinese like hell. I was reading and reading and reading, and I prepared all the materials needed for the paper. I put the dictionary, e-dictionary and everything Maths into the bag...

In the morning, I woke up at 4, slept again till5 and revised for chinese again. I never looked back into the bag ever since. So here is what happens.

It was time to enter the hall for the chinese paper. I took out the dictionary, e-dictionary and everything else. I covered them under my really cool sweater that I just bought... Anyway, that's besides the point. I noticed that my friend didnt bring any dictionary for the exam. So I offered her mine since I have 2. But she declined. So I entered the hall and sat. The duration began and immediately i rushed to do section 1 because I never finished doing them during any exams. Okay, I was doing, opening the e-dictionary to search for words. I never really touched the dictionary since i first took it out from the bag. SO here is the shocking moment. The invigilator was doing a round check on dictionaries. She opened the dictionaries one by one, she at first skipped me , but I didnt give a care, I was thinking really hard on my points. Then she turned and flipped open the dictionary. To my great horror, she was pissed off for some reason and lifted the dictionary. SHe pointed out at the words "CHINESE - ENGLISH". AT that point, I was taken aback myself. I hadn't realised I brought the wrong dictionary until she checked it. I was like super scared and I dint know what to say. I was shaking at my seat as she reprimanded me abt bringing the damn dictionary, and I knew that I was going into a deep shit. I didnt know what she was saying all the while because my chinese sucked and I blanked out for a moment then. But I think she mentioned about writing a report. Oh great, not it gets worse. Everybody else is going to know and I am going to die.

True enough, for the next paper, all the teachers were like looking at me, or what i thought they were. I was still shaking from that horrible discovery. And it was maths, and it seriously affected me. I couldnt think at all because I was reflecting about the morning's experience. There were numbers all over the place, trigo signs, proves and everything. I was super nervous because my mind immediately hanged.... I was lucky that I could manage to do the whole paper, with the exceptions of a few questions which weighed a lot of marks, like 5 marks each, and a total of 4 questions I was stumped on.

Well, here is what happens. THe night before, as i have said, I was studying for chinese like crazy. While i retrieve al lthe materials, I did not stop to think whether it is the right thing. Furthermore, the Chinese dictionary and that dictionary comes from the same publisher. Hence, the outer cover looks the same. It's red with green box somewhere. Anyway, both dictionaries were side by side. SO that moment i took the dictionary, I thought it was the right one because it has a lot of fonts on the cover, which i thought the actual one had but not. I really screwed myself up this time. Because of my carelessness, it costed me my chance of doing well in the prelims... Now, the paper I had tried to do hard and well will be voided by the markers just because of that damn dictionary.

So lesson learned, do not bring the dictionary, e-dictionary is enough.
